Did you know ...
No two giraffes have the same patterns?
Nor two snails the same shells?
No zebras have the same stripes?
That polar bear fur isn't white it's translucent?
That the "eye" on an ostrich's feathers are really black, even though it looks green and blue to the human eye?
God certainly is a creative Creator isn't He?
I won't even begin to talk about how He created each of us. We are all different, down to our fingerprints. And the human body ... how our bodies are able to repair cuts, bruises, and broken bones, how our cells tell each other what function to perform, how our stomachs are as intricate as our brains and how our brains function alone is mind boggling. Just think about it, there is a doctor who specializes in every part of our body! We are fearfully and wondrously made!
I digress, I did say I wouldn't even begin to talk about it didn't I?
Look at the bodies of water, the natural landscapes, the different types of foliage, and even the capacity He gave man to create buildings, roads, etc.
I guess my point is we serve an AWESOME God. He deserves our awe, reverence, and worship. He is majestic, set apart (holy), high and lofty ...
When I look around I honestly cannot comprehend how some believe that the world was "accidently" put together or we somehow evolved into the complex beings we are today.
The psalmist rightfully said, "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." (Psalm 19:1 NIV)
As His workmanship made in His image, each of us have a capacity to create. Since His creativity is inexhaustible - like His other attributes - I know He can utilize each of us to be creative in a manner that gives Him glory. Some of us are more creative than others, but each of us have a measure of creativity in us. I strongly believe that the Church should be the innovators in the world. We should be the ones the world looks to for the "latest and the greatest". Yet, this isn't the case. It isn't because God lacks the capacity, I think it is because we just haven't asked.
So, I am asking God to open up the creativity He has given me this year. I want Him to use me to create for my personal life and ministry. I'm not looking to be a Michelangelo, but I am looking to be creatively used in the areas He's called me. I want Him to awaken the creativity He put in me so that others will know I HAD to get it from God - because I'm just not that clever.
I want to be an example for my loving adorable daughter and others. He is just waiting for each of us to yield to Him and be used, and be used creatively. I'm making it a part of my mission to stop observing and complaining about what could be done and just ask that it be done through me.
Won't you join me?
