Well, I am feeling a lot better about everything! Part of what I have discovered is that I drifted away from the basics. Sometimes we think we've reached a certain point that we forget to adhere to the basics or take for granted the foundation we built on. Imagine a pastry chef deciding she could throw out the standard ratio of baking powder to flour. Too little and the pastry is flat, too much and the pastry not only rises tremendously, it just tastes bad! Sticking to the basics, especially as it relates to our faith is a must.
Every. Single. Day.
So, I have gone back to the basics, incorporating them into my daily routine and I'm sure if I am mindful not to let this slip again, when the different seasons enter my life and I'm challenged to stretch a bit more - I will be able to withstand better by standing on my foundation, Jesus, by looking to Him, His word, and taking it to Him in prayer (and leaving it there). He's shown me a lot this past month and I'm thankful that He never stops loving us and nudging us to continue to grow even when we are the ones that stunted the growth to begin with!
